The Importance of Reacting To Those Throbbing Gums Immediately

When it comes to taking care of your teeth, we really just think about the health of our teeth and not really about our gums. However, gum disease is part of the lives of ” and when not properly treated, can eventually result in the loss of even healthy teeth. This makes the health of our gums just as important as the health of our teeth.

Gum disease itself refers to an inflammation or expansion of the gums. There are actually three different kinds of gum disease, which each do their own damage. The three types of gum disease are gingivitis, periodontitis and acute necrotising ulcerative gingivitis.

Gingivitis

With teeth that are not cleaned properly or regularly enough, this can create a build-up of plaque. Plaque itself is comprised of food remnants and different types of bacteria. If the plaque is left to build up on your teeth, it will begin to irritate the gums above and around the upper parts. This then leads to gums that become inflamed with an enhanced red colour, taking on a shiny appearance, and can cause bleeding too. Eventually, if the plaque remains, then this can become more serious and develop to periodontitis.

Periodontitis

If a case of gingivitis goes untreated, then your gums may begin to retract upwards away from your gums. This leaves small gaps between where your gums used to be and your teeth. Whilst these gaps may be very small, they are still large enough for plaque to get trapped inside. Unfortunately, at this stage, regular cleaning with a toothbrush will not help because the toothbrush cannot penetrate the gaps to clean them.

If this plaque is not removed from these gaps, then it will become more solid and become tartar. The plaque and tartar combined create further issues which can move into the bones around your mouth that support your gums and teeth. As the disease spreads, the gaps get larger, harder to resolve and in the process your gums and the bones supporting them could get smaller. Essentially, this is what periodontitis is.

With shrinking gums, the risk is that your teeth roots will be exposed which can be highly sensitive for food and drink consumption later. With bone loss, this can seriously affect the stability of your teeth and in a worst case scenario, teeth can either fall out or need to be removed by a cosmetic dentist like those available at “.

It is possible for a dentist to treat the disease, and with more attention paid to daily flossing and brushing, the condition can be stopped in its tracks but the previous damage cannot be rolled back.

Acute Necrotising Ulcerative Gingivitis

The third type of gum disease is known as “. It is a particularly bad type of gum disease that can surface very fast. However, it usually can be resolved with improved hygiene for your mouth, teeth and gums, twice daily brushing and a course of antibiotics.

Drug Uses

Zyban is indicated as an aid to smoking cessation treatment.

How Taken

Zyban comes as a tablet to take it orally. It is usually taken twice a day and may be taken with or without food. It is important to swallow Zyban Tablets whole. Do not chew, divide, or crush tablets.

Warnings/Precautions

Do not take Zyban if you have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) in the last 14 days.
Zyban is in the FDA pregnancy category B. This means that it is not expected to be harmful to an unborn baby. Do not take Zyban without first talking to your doctor if you are pregnant or could become pregnant during treatment.
It is not known whether Zyban will be harmful to a nursing baby. Do not take Zyban without first talking to your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.

Missed Dose

If you forget to take a dose, do not take an extra tablet to catch up for the dose you forgot. Wait and take your next tablet at the regular time. Do not take more tablets than your doctor prescribed. This is important so you do not increase your chance of having a seizure.

Possible Side Effects

Like all medicines, Zyban may cause side effects. Do not rely on this summary alone for information about side effects. Your doctor can discuss with you a more complete list of side effects that may be relevant to you. Hypertension (high blood pressure), in some cases severe, has been reported when taking Zyban alone and in combination with nicotine replacement therapy (for example a nicotine patch). The most common side effects include dry mouth and difficulty sleeping. These side effects are generally mild and often disappear after a few weeks. If you have difficulty sleeping, avoid taking your medicine too close to bedtime.
The most common side effects that stopped taking Zyban during clinical studies were shakiness and skin rash.
Stop taking Zyban and contact your doctor or health care professional if you have signs of an allergic reaction such as a rash, hives, or difficulty in breathing. It is not possible to predict whether a mild rash will develop into a more serious reaction. Therefore, if you experience a skin rash, hives, fever, swollen lymph glands, painful sores in the mouth or around the eyes, or swelling of lips or tongue, tell a doctor immediately, since these symptoms may be the first signs of a serious reaction. Discuss any other troublesome side effects with your doctor.

Storage

Store Zyban at room temperature, out of direct sunlight. Keep Zyban in a tightly closed container. Keep Zyban out of the reach of children.

Overdose

Seek emergency medical attention if an overdose is suspected. Symptoms of a Zyban overdose include seizures, hallucinations, loss of consciousness, weakness, a fast heartbeat, and heart attack.

More Information

Avoid alcohol or drink it only in moderation while taking Zyban. Alcohol may increase the risk of having a seizure while taking Zyban. However, if you usually drink a lot of alcohol, talk with your doctor before stopping. Suddenly stopping may increase the risk of having a seizure. Talk to your doctor about alcohol use before starting treatment with Zyban.
Use caution when driving, operating machinery, or performing other hazardous activities. Zyban may cause dizziness or drowsiness. If you experience dizziness or drowsiness, avoid these activities.

Lose 10 Lbs

Lose 10 lbs! This sounds like the average goal of weight losers! The Internet abounds in tips and suggestions on how to get fit within a short period of time. People need fast solutions, or a quick-fix to the weight problem, however, it could take a month or two for 10 pounds weight loss. At least this is the risk-free approach to diet, given that more rapid weight loss could have very serious consequences for your health. Do not purchase products that promise rapid weight loss without any effort. They are either dangerous or they don’t tell you the whole truth.

You can’t lose 10 lbs just by dieting or by using supplements; regular and intense physical activity, proper hydration, good night rest and a balance in the stress level are of paramount importance for the success of your endeavor. Moreover, for the permanence of results, you should go for the root of the problem and fix it. I’ll give just one example here of a possible cause for weight gain, other than the high caloric intake. I’m talking about emotional eating. People who feel dissatisfied or depressed because of a poor love life or professional failure, tend to compensate for their disappointment by binging.

This is the kind of person that would wake up at night to eat, and will too often indulge in self-treats. Moreover, emotional instability makes dieting difficult, because such people often lack willpower and therefore will not follow the initial plan. The moment they feel depressed, they eat. Without help to solve the real problem, chances to lose 10 lbs and keep them away for good are pretty low. Lots of support and attention is required to help such people. And family plays the most important part here! Friends and health groups could also substitute family support.

Genetic predisposition, chronic disease or hormonal imbalances could also make weight loss difficult. You won’t be able to lose 10 lbs unless you solve the health problem first. Medical tests are often required when people experience sudden weight gain. The general practitioner should be able to guide you when it comes to food choices, but he/she may also refer you further to another expert to look further into your health problem. Nutritious meals, physical activity and healthy living principles apply no matter your condition or fitness level. Stick by those and you’ll see improvement in your life sooner than expected!

The first biotech drug for asthma related to allergies

Revolutionary aid is available for people with severe asthma 12 years do not respond to traditional treatments, such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved Xolair (omalizumab) as the first drug for asthma allergyrelated biotechnology. About 17 million American adults and children with asthma, 60 percent of them from allergic asthma. Although the exact cause of allergic asthma is a little mystery, doctors have made significant progress in understanding what triggers an attack. When the body detects something it is allergic antibody IgE to mast cells send signals through the body to release histamine, prostaglandins and other chemicals to counteract the attacks.
In some cases, the antibodies react against substances that are quite mild in this case, the allergen isnot thats the problem. This is the same allergic reaction that can be severe enough to kill a person. Xolair prevents IgE antibodies from sending messages to the pole so that these cells are never a signal to release chemicals that cause the reaction. In two clinical trials in six months, the drug was effective in controlling wheezing, shortness of breath and severe coughing in asthmatics who do not respond to inhaled steroids, allergy injections, and other standard therapies.Participants in one study showed that up to one third fewer asthma attacks, while on the drug.
During clinical trials, there is a slight increase in the number of people who developed cancer while on the drug, prompting the FDA to require the drugs manufacturer, Genentech, to investigate a possibleconnection. Moreover, the three participants in the trial developed a potentially fatal reaction to the drug itself, all the time recovered.
